Finally, we offer medical boarding after surgery and if your pet may require medical attention where standard boarding kennels may not be trained appropriately. Dental

There are a few important ways to improve your pet’s dental health such as home brushing, dental chews, and the most important being regular oral exams with your veterinarian. The most effective way to protect your pet from dental disease is through regular professional cleanings. We perform thorough cleanings that include an extensive oral examination, digital dental x-rays to diagnose any underlying disease under the gums, scaling, and polishing. If needed, we will suggest extractions, oral surgery, and endodontics. Recent studies have shown that good oral health may add up to 2 years to your pet’s life.

Spay & Neuter

Besides vaccinations, spaying and neutering your pet is one of the best things that you can do for your pets! Not only does spaying and neutering have positive effects on your pets’ health, but it’s also vital to controlling the homeless pet population. Book your spay or neuter consult appointment today.

Prevention Medicine

- Dogs -

Rabies

This vaccine is required by state law and can only be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Rabies is a fatal virus that is passed to other pets and people through the saliva of an infected animal.

Canine Distemper (DA2PP)

A combination vaccine that protects your dog against four diseases (distemper, adenovirus-2, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). These diseases are serious and highly contagious, attacking your pet’s nervous system, respiratory system, and gastrointestinal tract causing major complications and can be life-threatening.

Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

This vaccine protects your pet against the airborne virus commonly known as ‘Kennel Cough.’ This virus causes respiratory problems and is highly contagious. It is easily spread in areas where large numbers of dogs are confined such as boarding, daycare, dog parks, etc. If you regularly board your dog, many kennels require vaccinations every 6 months. Call ahead if you believe your dog is infected and we will provide you a back entrance to ensure the virus isn’t spread.

Influenza

The canine influenza vaccine protects against a contagious respiratory infection and is recommended if your pet is in kennel or social situations like daycare, boarding, dog parks, and puppy training classes.

Leptospirosis

This vaccine protects against a bacterium that can cause deadly kidney or liver disease. Leptospirosis is zoonotic meaning it can be transmitted to people causing the same issues. This vaccine is recommended for pets who are frequently around lakes, ponds, rivers (as this is a breeding ground for this virus) or are exposed to wildlife (as they transmit the disease in their urine). If you travel with your pet outside of Evergreen, this vaccination is necessary.

- Cats -

Rabies

This vaccine is required by state law and can only be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Rabies is a fatal bacterium that is passed to other pets and people through the saliva of an infected animal.

FVRCP (Feline Distemper)

A combination vaccine that protects your cat against three diseases (rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia). These diseases are highly contagious and attack your pet’s respiratory system, nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract causing major complications and can be life-threatening.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)

This vaccine helps protect your pet against this disease that impairs the immune system and causes certain types of cancer. This virus infection is responsible for most deaths in household cats, affecting all breeds. The disease is spread through cat-to-cat contact and from bite wounds. This vaccine is recommended for multiple-cat households or cats allowed outside.

Imaging

Advanced Digital X-Rays

We are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool we use to look inside the body in an entirely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body’s organs. In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pet’s body that we otherwise could not see. It’s a valuable diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illnesses.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves to offer a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free method of imaging your pets’ internal organs. By using ultrasound, we have yet another powerful tool at our disposal to detect, diagnose, and prevent illness in your pet.

In-House Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for blood chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Cold Laser Therapy

Here at Evergreen Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer cold laser therapy. We are always learning new and better ways to treat our patients. We also are dedicated to using the latest veterinary technologies. One way we do this is by providing cold laser therapy for our patients

Cold laser therapy is a state-of-the-art alternative therapy to assist with pain and healing. It can be used after surgeries to help increase blood flow to local areas, improving healing. For this same reason, it is also helpful for wound healing. Cold laser therapy can also be used for chronic pain, helping to increase blood flow to those areas. We have also seen great success in using this therapy for patients with kidney failure.
