Dr. Austin Teel received his Bachelor of Science in biomedical science with the highest honors in 2016 from Texas A&M University [1], a year after starting veterinary school. In 2019, He received his doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM) with honors from Texas A&M University [2]. He is a member of the AVMA [3], CVMA [4], and is Fear Free Certified. Dr. Teel has special interests in small animal emergency and critical care medicine and public health. He was born and raised in Dallas, TX and attended Jesuit College Preparatory School [5] in north Dallas.
He always had a love and fascination with animals when he was a child but decided to become a veterinarian after meeting his wife and her family and spending most of his time in high school with their Australian Shepherds, Foster and Tucker. When he is not treating patients and helping animals, Dr. Teel loves to be outdoors. His hobbies include traveling, hiking, target shooting, and watching his Texas A&M Aggies beat up on the rest of the SEC. (A WHOOP!) Dr. Teel is also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars.
